Women have a particularly hard time saying ‘no.’ We’ve been taught to take care of others, to “be there” when someone needs help, and to commune and console. Telling someone we can’t, or won’t, do what they want touches some part of us that’s been trained to do the opposite. But we often say ‘yes’ at the expense of our own needs, wants and purpose.
